RIFLE SHOOTING

MEETING HELD AT WAIHI KEMPTON WINS AGGREGATE [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WAIHI, Sunday The 30th minimi prize-firing meeting of the South Auckland Rifle Association was held at the Waihi rifle range yesterday in showery weather with an accompanying fishtail wind which affected the standard of shooting. There was a considerable falling off in the number of competitors as compared with last year, the total taking part being thirty. The championship went to President Kempton, of Clcvcdon. with an aggregate score of 182, the runners-up being Major Eustace, of Tauranga, and .Rifleman Harris, of Clevedon, each tying with a score of 181. The championship carries with it the liubbard .Memorial Cup, won last year by Rifleman F. Howes, Auckland City Club.
