REPRESENTATIVE MATCH AUCKLAND VERSUS NORTH VISITORS MAKE 302 RUNS A match was commenced at Eden Park 011 Saturday between teams representing tlie Auckland and North Auckland Cricket Associations, the visitors batting first and scoring i!O2, Auckland replied with 10 for no wickets. A slight shower before the start 'made the use of sawdust necessary in the early stages. A feature of tho visitors' innings was the display of G. L. Weir, who carried his bat for 108, which included ten boundaries and one six S A H. Budeley gave a blight exhibition of straight driving in scoring 52 in fifty-five minuk;s, throe fine sixes and four fours delighting the spectators. Spring, with four wickets tor 72 runs in 31 overs, was hard to score off. In his first seven overs after lunch he took olio wicket for three runs. North Auckland lost. W. Dunning early and two wickets were down for 33. Howcver, a good partnership between E. Dunning and Badelcy, yielded 55). Dunning played all the bowling with confidence, while Badelcy delighted with crisp drives to the on, and found the boundary with straight, powerful drives over the bowler's head. Although Matheson rang the bowling changes, Badelcy continued to score freely. G. Lawrie provided a bright period when ho used his feet in getting out to Spring. The bowler was keeping a steady length, with a slight turn from the off. Weir and E. Wyatt were associated in a dreary half hour which added 11 runs, and although Matheson made frequent bowling changes, Wyatt would not be tempted. Weir, who had started shakily, opened out. and with powerful drives and nict leg glances scored quickly. He reached his century after 113 minutes' play, lie was badly dropped at 35 oil the boundary by Curtayne off Macßae. L. Wyatt impressed with a variety of strokes and a sound defence. Matheson varied his attack well and got a lot of pace off the wicket, particularly with the wind. Langton and Macßae both bowled well. McNabb made pace off the wicket, with an occasional ball that kicked up, and was treated with respect. Spring, however, was the steadiest trundler, and with better fielding would have had another wicket. Scores :
