EMPIRE INTERESTS
PROPOSED CONFERENCE TIME OF CORONATION v LONDON. April 8 In the House of Commons, Sir Percy Hurd (Conservative —Devizes), asked whether the King's coronation could be used as an opportunity for an Imperial Conference and 'whether the Gov- * ernment had communicated with the Dominions in reference to renewed foreign trade agreements and upon the proposed revision of the Ottawa agreements. The Under-Secretary for the Dominions, the Marquess of Hartington, replied: "We are hoping it will be possible to arrange an Imperial Conference at the time of the coronation, regarding which communications are now passing with the Domirifon Governments. "It is the practice to inform the Dominions when trade negotiations with foreign countries are held, in order to v give them an opportunity to express their views if they should think their interests are affected."
