MR. DAVIS AND MR. SAVAGE EARLY FRIENDSHIP RECALLED [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] 4 WELLINGTON. Thursday A lighter interlude in the second reading debate on the Reserve Bank Amendment Bill in the Legislative Council yesterday was a reference by the Hon. E. R. Davis (Auckland) to an early association he had enjoyed with the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage. Before discussing the bill, which incidentally he supported, Mr. Davis con« gratulated the Labour Party on its tainment of office as the Government of the day. He recalled a time many years ago when he an% the Prime Minister* employed by the same firm, saw much of each other during the working daji which began at 7.30 and continued until 5 p.m. "Mr. Savage and I used to sit on a beer barrel and talk politics, said Mr. Davis.
