MILFORD BEACH DAMAGE
LOAN FOR REPAIRS AUTHORITY TO RAISE £3600 Permission to raise a loan of £;J6OO to repair damage done to Milford Beach in the recent gale has been granted by the Treasury to the Takapuna Borough Council, stated Mr. W. J. Lyon, M.P., on Thursday. No poll of ratepayers will bo necessary and it is hoped that the Public Works Department will assist the work with expert supervision and possibly a subsidy. The loan will be raised without delay, stated the Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. J Guiniven, and property owners who suffered by the storm will be invited to attend a special meeting as soon as possible. They will be asked to surrender their riparian rights to the council in order that land outside the wall to be built will become public property. The wall will be of uniform design and alignment ami will provide full protection for property adjoining on the beach.
