SYDNEY GALLOPS CUDDLE'S FINE SPRINT (Received April 10. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 9 Final gallops for the opening day, Saturday, of the A.J.C. autumn carnival, wero staged on tho Randwick B grass track this morning, next the rails. One of the best gallops was credited to Cuddle. Carrying M. McCarten, with her full Doncaster Handicap weight, and travelling wide out, she recorded 1.11 for five furlongs—a very good piece of work. Gay Blonde gave Golden Gate a start and a beating over the same distance in l.Oi. Both were lightly shod and carried lighter weights than Cuddle. Golden Chance was not hurried at the finish to run five furlongs in 1.4. Egmont, who will have his final Sydney Cup gallop on Saturday, sprinted well to-day. Ridden by M. McCarten, he ran the last two furlongs of steady work in 255.

Salamander was not hurried to run ten furlongs in 2.17. Fidelity was credited with a very fast half-mile, in 49is. Cereza (J. Pratt) also went very well, registering 4925. ' The fastest six furlongs of the morning was established by Kuvcra, who easily beat Canograss in 1.135. Oro gave Collstar a start and easily beat her over ten furlongs in 2.7 i, the last four in 60s. Gold Bod led Treasure Trove on the tan, running three furlongs easily in 38is. Sylvandale will not race at the meeting, as lie has not pleased his trainer. He has been withdrawn from all engagements. At Victoria Park, on the course proper, running 30ft. out ; Silver Ping (K. Voitre) dirt good striding work over six furlongs in 1.20. Spear Prince beat Soft Step by 12 lengths over nine furlongs in 1.591. Valiant Chief was going easily to record 1.6J for five. Peter Pan ran a nice mile. Hall Mark and Cherry King covered four furlongs in 50s. His trainer is very pleased with Hall Mark's work. Lone Raider and King Charles went just fairly over four furlongs in 525. Glenspear and Contact galloped six furlongs in 1.20. Contact continues to work well. At Moorefiold, on the course proper, Journal went a mile in 1.485, an attractive effort, in view of the smallness of this track.
