THE FISH
On summer days I often wish That I could be * A little fish; In waters cool, And dark and deep, To float, a-dream, Or sink to sleep; And leisurely To glide between The pebbles brown, Ana cresses green; And push my noso Into the bank, And smell the earth, All soft and dank; And turn my head To float downstream, Where cool reflected Flowers grjeam; From shaded deeps To slowlv come Into the bright Pools of the sun. —Joan Agnew.
