THEFT BY FARM HAND
MONEY STOLEN AND SPENT CLOTHES AND AMUSEMENTS The theft of £2M was admitted by William Graham, a farm hand, aged 17, in tho Police Court, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on Thursday. Senior-Detective Hall said that accused occupied a bach with complainant, Horace Sydney Miller, on a farm at Hikurangi. Complainant left a wallet containing £2B in single notes, and £23 was missed. Accused went to Whangarei, spent some of the money on clothes, and took the train to Auckland. There ho bought more clothes, and spent the rest of the money on pictures, cigarettes and billiards. When ho walked into the central police station to give himself up he had only Is 4d left. Accused was placed on probation for three years and ordered to make restitution. *
