REVUE SEASON
"A BRIGHTER 1936" Stanley McKay's Gaieties VaudevilleRevue Company, which has been entertaining large audiences at His Majesty's Theatre for the past few weeks, is providing a special Easter production in "A Brighter 1936," which is to open its season at a matinee this afternoon. Ike Delavale, comedian; has proved himself a firm favourite with Auckland audiences, and in the new production he is seen in a number of new comedy sketches, including "The Dead Heat," while he will impersonate Ned Kelly in the latest skit, "The Kelly Gang." Some beautiful, song scenes are also on the programme, among these being "The Easter Parade." with Winnie Edgerton and Russell Callow, assisted by a strong chorus in mid-Victorian costumes, ".June and January" and "The Queen of Sheba's Visit to King Solomon."
A holiday matinee is to be given on Easter Monday afternoon and a special children's matinee on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. For this production 30 young Aucklanders have been engaged. Pantomime items and competitions will be included on this programme.
