METHODIST CHURCH
AUCKLAND EIAST CIRCUIT The Auckland East Methodist Church Circuit has set up & commission to consider the advisability of embarking on a church extension scheme in or near tho city. At the quarterly meeting of officials of : the circuit it was reported that Mrs. Tod-Smith, of Hemuera, had forwarded a donation of £IOO toward this project, in memory of her late husband. The circuit's foreign mission effort for the past year had realised £448. which was thought highly satisfactory, it was reported. For the same year £2BB had, been raised for home missions, this being slightly less'than for the previous year, - It was reported that the Epsom church leaders' meeting had extended a cordial welcome to the Rev. K. D. Patchett to remain as superintendent minister for a seventh year. This was appro\-ed by the meeting, subject to confirmation at the September quarterly meeting. The meeting resolved to make a strong protest against the proposal to grant licences for the sale of liquor in the King Country, the protest to be forwarded to Parliament.
