SALESMAN CHARGED
ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES COMMITTED FOR TRIAL [nv TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DANNEVIKKE. Wednesday An Auckland share salesman, Hans Peter Mortcnsen, was to-day committed for trial on three charges of alleged false pretences in. connection with the sale of shares in the Tangarakau Coal Mining Company (in liquidation).
Several witnesses stated that accused had been in the Norsewood and Ormondville districts, selling shares in the company on tho representation that Mr. William Goodfellow was the chairman of directors of the company. In evidence Mr. Goodfellow said that Glenafton Collieries had been given by accused an option over a coal property in tho Ohura district. Witness said that he personally had never been interested in the Tangarakau Coal Mining Company. He was not chairman of directors, nor a director of the company. Accused had been perfectly frank with him in connection with the option over the Ohura property. Accused was granted hail.
