RESTAURANT MISHAP
DAMAGES FOR WAITRESS | ' > Reserved judgment in a claim for 'damages by Olive jVlunro, a waitress, against Z. Vodanovich and M. Borieh, restaurant proprietors, was given by j Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Plaintiff sought £l4 special damages and £IOO general damages as a result of ih juries received when an urn of hot water upset in n Lower Queen Street restaurant. The magistrate said "he was not prepared to accept a considerable part of the evidence for the defence. He found the urn was a source of danger owing to tho insecure nature of its foundations. There was no evidence of contributory negligence on tho part of plaintiff and he accepted her version of what happened. She was entitled to tho £44 special damages claimed. The amount of £IOO general damages was excessive, but he would allow £3O and costs.
