THE NORTHCOTE BRANCH SIXTH ANNUAL MEETING The sixth annual meeting of the Northcote branch of the Plunket Society, held in the Northcote Returned Soldiers' Clubroom, was lnrgely attended. The annual subscribers and guests were welcomed by the president, Mrs. A. Campbell. The Auckland headquarters was represented by the president, Mrs. J. C. Allan, and Mrs. A. J. Beck, Mrs. M. H. Campbell, Miss Jessie Campbell, and Miss Joan Carmichael. Visitors included Dr. Barrett Clayton, of Canada, and Mrs. Clayton (formerly Miss Eileen Partridge, secretary of the Auckland branch), Mrs,. Park (England), the Misses Soady (Riverina, Australia), Mrs. J. W. Craven, Mrs. K. H. Holdgate, Mrs. G. Mills, Mayoress of Birkenhead, Mrs. R. Martin, Mayoress of Northcote. The vice-president, Mrs. W. E. Carter, handed a, bouquet to Mrs. Clayton. Mrs. J. C. Allan was also presented with a bouquet by Mrs. F. Townshend, vice-president. Work ol the Year The various reports submitted, together with the financial statement, shewed successful work throughout the year. Nurse Joan Carmichael stated that on the 53 days the Northcote Plunket rooms were open, there had been 1935 visits by 820 adults, 757 babies, and 358 older children; besides 407 visits to homes. There were 55 new baby cases during the year. Voluntary transport, which greatly facilitated the work of the nurse, was maintained by the voluntary drivers, Mesdames N- J. Campbell, A. Sterling, R. C. Morley, L. T. Hayman, N. R. Stewart, F. E. Cox, 11. Martin, Misses Bettina Edwards, Myrtle Lepper, and Jean Stewart.

The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs. A. Campbell; vicepresidents, Mesdames W. E. Carter, F. Townshend and A. W. Christmas; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs. J. W. Lethbridgo; committee, Mesdames W. P. Hay, A. E. Clark, E. A. Campbell, D. H. Oppermun, P. J. Hawke, L. G, Gimblett, M. S. Davis, W. F. Ward, R. E. Cadness, E. Barrington Snow, I. Morrison, J. W. Hollows, O. Honeycombe, P. C. Cross, R. G. Skeates, J. Dickson, T. C. Winkelmann, L. T. Hayman, W. H. Rossiter, L. 0. Tarbutt and H. Macdonald. Presentations Made

Mrs. A. E. Wood, of Birkenhead, who is .to leave shortly for a trip to England, was presented with a bouquet by Mrs. N. J. Campbell on behalf of members. The gift of a tall, vase in Moorcroft ware was made to Mrs. A. E. Stilwell, a foundation member of the Northcote committee, who has removed to Devonport. In view of her approaching marriage. Miss Jean Stewart, whose services as a voluntary driver were referred to in most appreciative terms, was presented with a set of tall compote dishes in Stuart crystal A bridge outfit was presented to Miss Grace Lockie, who had helped with Plunket Day collections and at social, gatherings. Mrs. J. C. Allan outlined the objects of the Truby King Junior League. Dr. Barrett Clayton, of Victoria, British Columbia, gave a talk on research work in association with Sir Truby King in London.
