ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY

LADIES' AUXILIARY annual meeting held A satisfactory financial position and increased attendances were revealed at the annual meeting of the ladies' auxiliary of the St. Andrew's Society held in the Fabian Club rooms yesterday afternoon. The president, Mrs. J. K. Black, presided. In the report presented by the hon. secretary, Mrs. D. McLaren, it was stated that, the auxiliary had made donations to the Crippled Children's Fund, St. John Ambulance Association, the Contiminity Sunshine Association and the Y.M.C.A. camp at Hunua. The membership had increased during the year, necessitating the move to larger rooms. The auxiliary had again affiliated •with the National Council of Women, and Mrs. D. McLaren and Mrs. A. J. Muirhead had been appointed as delegates. During the year eight At Homes had been held and lectures of special interest to Scottish women had been given.

The financial statement showed a favourable credit, although the expenses had been heavier than those of the previous year. Both the annual report and the balance-sheet were adopted.

The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs. J. Henderson Will; vice-presidents, Mrs. W. H. Tongue, Dr. Gladys Montgomery, Mrs. J. P. Lornie, Mrs. J. Bissett, Mrs. A. Muirhead, Mrs. D. McCrone, Mrs. W. McKam; Miss H. Barbour; lion, secretary, Mrs. G. Spicer; hon. treasurer, Mrs. I). McLaren; committee, Mrs. J. W. Barbour, Mrs. J. Robertson. Mrs. P. G. Wright, Mrs. F. Brown, Mrs. J. Douglas, Mrs. T. Massicks, Mrs. J. Morton, Mrs. Fricker. Mrs. Fraser, Mrs. R. N. Matthews, Mrs. Bark, Miss Hill; hon. pianist, , Miss L. Braithwaite.

On behalf of the committee Dr. Gladys Montgomery presented Mrs. Black, the retiring president, with a boudoir clock and a bouquet in appreciation of her past services. A crystal vase was presented to Mrs. McLaren by Mrs. Black on behalf of the auxiliary. Following the business meeting songs were given by Mrs. J. 5. Black, Mrs. Armstrong Keren and Mrs. T. Massicks. Mrs. Keren acted as accompanist. Afternoon tea was served at the conclusion di the meeting.
