E. M. ELLIOTT OUTSTANDING Although the records in the junior division are not of so high a standard as that in the other grades, the competi tion for boys under 14J years having only been on the programme for the past four years, the performances of E. M. Elliott, another Auckland Grammar boy, in sejtting two new figures, was a feature of'the meeting. Elliott won the 220vds in 25 l-5s and the 440vds in 57 4-ss, times which show great promise. When E. Peterson, Sacred' Heart College, won the 100 yds in 11 3-ss, a fifth of a second short of the record, he impressed by his dash and neat action. The other boys who revealed ability above the average were K. Wilson, King's College, and C. Harrison, Sacred Heart College. They finished equal in the high jump with 4ft 9£in — a new recoift.
