HARRIER RACING
LYNNDALE CLUB'S REPORT The report presented at tho annual meeting of the Lynndnle Harrier Club stated that tho last season was one of the most successful yet experienced. The club won the Auckland provincial championship for the first time, and retained tho Auckland harrier teams' championship for the third successive year. W. A. Briggs, the club champion, gained individual honours in the latter race and also secured provincial and New Zealand honours as a member of the Auckland team which won the New Zealand cross-country championship. The sealed handicap in the Onehunga to Auckland annual road race was won by a junior member of the club, W. Baker, who also finished first in the Takapuna Lake road race. Second place in the latter contest was won by another Lynndale harrier. J. P. Dolan, The election of officers resulted ns follows:—President. Mr. J. P. Dolan; captain and deputy-captain, to be elected at the opening run; secretary, Mr. W. C. Mo Combie; treasurer, Mr. W. Brereton; committee. Messrs. Dolan. MeCombie, Brereton. Anderson. Collins: liandicapper, Mr. W. Brereton; delegate to Auckland harrier subcommittee, Mr. J. P. Dolan. It was decided to hold the opening run from New Lynn on April 18 and the official opening run on May 2 from, the Avondalji racecourse.
