TKANSPORT CONTROL members reappointed SYSTEM TO BE OVERHAULED LEGISLATION THIS SESSION [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS association] WELLINGTON. Friday The Minister of Transport, Mr. Semple, to-day announced the reappointment for a month of the ten district transport licensing authorities throughout New Zealand, with the present chairman in, each district. The term of the appointment is from February 29 to March 31 next. Explaining his rejason for reappointing the members of the authorities for a term of one month only, the Minister said that a complete overhaul of the transport system of the Dominion '■* was to be made, and it was not desired to keep the existing organisation in operation unnecessarily. Mr. Semple said that a committer was at present carrying out a complete investigation of the transport system, and until the work of that committee was finished it was impossible to say what would be done. Tha public could rest assured, however, that changes would be made and that the cut-throat competition at existing would be eliminated. The Minister added that the amending legislation would be ready in tim« ■' to be dealt with during the coming session of Parliament.
