WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
New Lynn.—A talk by Mr. D. M. Rao on his impressions of education abroad was enjoyed by all who attended the last meeting of the institute. Ttems were given by Mrs. Sinclair and Mrs. Tate. The hostesses were Mrs. Southern, Mrs. Sheen, Mrs. Winship and Mrs. Brannen.
Auckland Centre. —Mrs. Neal. vicepfesident, presided in the absence, through illness, of the president, Mrs. Teape. A vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs. Holstien, members standing in silence. Miss Reston and Mrs. Butler were appointed delegates to attend the biannual federation meeting to be held in May. Songs were sung by Mrs. Rattray. A sketch, dance and songs by the president and members of the Brown's Bay Institute also were enjoyed.
