BIRTHDAY PARTIES
MORRINSVILLE FUNCTIONS A coming-of-age party of considerable interest was celebrated in the Morrinsrille district this week, when Mr. and Mrs. P. Rush ton, well known in the Waikato, entertained about 100 guests from Morrinsville, Tatuanui and Waitoa in the Tatuanui Hall, in honour of their eldest daughter, May, who is a student of the Bible Training Institute, Auckland. The Rev. B. M. Crystal!, of Waitoa, was in charge of the programme, and a happy evening was spent in playing games and competitions. Mr. Rushton presented his daughter with the customary key. Friends from all parts of the Morrinsville district were present at a dance given in the Mangateparu Hall T>y Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Kerr to celebrate the 21st birthday of their younger daughter, Miss Jean Kerr, who is well known as a leading player for the Mangateparu tennis and hockey clubs and a member of Morrinsville representative teams. A happy time was spent in dancing. Mrs. Kerr received the guests wearing an ensemble of black crepe de chine, wlifle Miss Jean Kerr wore a frock of ivory crepe Marina with silver relief.
