"YEOMEN OF THE GUARD"
FINAL PERFORMANCES TO-DAY " The Yeomen of the Guard," a combination of some of the finest lyrics written by Sullivan and of the dramatic genius of Gilbert, is drawing large houses at His Majesty's Theatre. The final" scene has been loudly acclaimed at each performance as a masterpiece of dramatic irony. The final performances of " The Yeomen of the Guard " will be given this afternoon at 2.15 and to-night at 8. " lolanthe " will be presented on Monday, and Tuesday nights, with a matinee on Wednesday, brilliant dialogue, mirthful situations and exquisite music make this opera one of the most popular of the Savoy series. The Lord Chancellor will be portrayed by Ivan Menzies, the Fairy Queen by Evelyn Gardiner, Strephon by Gregory Stroud, Earl Toliver by Godfrey Stirling, Phyllis by Winifred Lawson, Eari Mountararat by Bernard Manning, lolanthe by Eileen Kelly, and Private Willis by Richard Watson. That infectious comedy, " The Mikado," will be presented on Wednesday night, and will conclude on the following Saturday. It is interesting to note that " The Mikado " has been translated into more tongues, and produced in more foreign theatres than otljer of the Savoy series. Booking arrangements are advertised.
