DIVORCE GRANTED

HUSBAND'S SEARCH FOR WIFE An. undefended petition for divorce on the ground of desertion was heard by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday. The petitioner, Lindsay Armishaw (Mr. Singer) stated that he married the respondent, Elizabeth Armishaw, in' 1930. There were no children. His wife elected to continue her employment as a machinist. A year later he lost his employment and went on relief work. This distressed his wife, who went to live with her mother.

The latter, who wanted to go to England for a holiday, insisted on taking his wife with her, against his protests, said petitioner. His wife wrote to him for about nine months, but refused to return, saying that she wanted her freedom "and had found someone else in England. Later he obtained work on an oversea vessel and went' to England in search of her. He met a number of her relatives, but none of them knew ;where she was. Counsel remarked that the respondent had been found only through an application to the High Commissioner's office. After hearing corroborative evidence His Honor made a decree nisi.
