MATCH AT EDEN PAEK M.C.C. AND NEW ZEALAND PLAY COMMENCING TO-DAY The M.C.C. touring cricket tenin will meet the New Zealand representative eleven in the third unofficial tost match at Eden Park to-day, play commencing at 11.30 o'clock. The game will be continued to-morrow and on Monday. In view of .the fact that the two previous games have been drawn, M.C.C. having much the better of the first game, while New Zealand had a distinct advantage in the second, it is anticipated that both teams will be very keen to force a decision in the test commencing to-day. \Y ith prospects of fine weather, patrons should witness bright and interesting cricket. With the exception of the captain, I. B. Cromb, who arrived on Wednesday, the southern members of the New Zealand team, S. C. Elmes, of Otago, J. L. Kerr, of Canterbury, and J. A. R. Blandford, D. A. E. Moloney and B. Griffiths, of Wellington, arrived yesterday morning. A member of the management committee of the New Zealand Council, Mr. H. M. Taylor, also arrived from Christchurch yesterday. He will act as manager of the New Zealand team. The side practised at Eden Park yesterday afternoon. The M.C.C. team will probably show two changes from that which played against Auckland last week. C. J. Lyttelton and H. D. Read are standing down, the newcomers in the side being D. Smith and A. D. Baxter. Smith.was one of England's leading batsmen last year, scoring 2175 runs, at an average of 39.54. Possessing a wide range of powerful shots, he secures his runs at a fast rate. Baxter is a fast swing bowler, who can make the ball spin back from the off after the shine has gone off it. He finished second to G. 0. Allen in the English averages last season. The hburs of play will be as follows: —11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 p.m. to 3.45 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The teams, subject to last-minute alteration so far as the visitors are concerned, will be:— M.C.C.
