SHIPS FOR PRODUCE
MANY COMING IN BALLAST CARGOES FOR BRITAIN Many empty overseas vessels are coming to New Zealand to load meat and dairy produce for Great Britain. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana and the Port Line steamer Port Napier are loading at Southern ports. The Matakana came from Australia and the Port Napier came from England in ballast. This morning the Port Line motor-ship Port Chalmers will arrive at Auckland from Brisbane to load at New Zealand ports. Another 12 steamers are en route from Great Britain in ballast to load in New Zealand. The vessels are the Port Line steamers Port Caroline and Port Hunter, the Shaw, Savill and Albion f steamers Waimana, Mamari, Pakeha, Kumara, Maimoa and Mahana, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamers Hurunyi, Turakina and Hororata, and the Blue Star Line steamer Tuscan Star. The first of the 12 steamers will reach New Zealand on March 3 and the last one on April 2.
