ALCOHOL AND MOTORING
MAGISTRATE'S EXPERIENCE [from our own correspondent] LONDON, Jan. 25 " I have proved, from my own experience, that the slightest drop of alcohol does affect the. driving of a motor-car." This remark was made by Mr. R. E. Dummett, magistrate at Bow Street Police Court. "Any man is a fool," he continued, " who thinks he can consume liquor, pertaiuly to any extent, and still be a safo person to be in charge of a car.'' Mr. Dummett imposed a fine of £25. with £2 12s 6d costs, on a commercial traveller for being under the influence of drink while in charge of a car. The man was further disqualified from driving for 12 months.
