OVER 1,000,000 BLACK TIES [FROM OCR OWN* CORRESPONDENT] By Air Mail . LONDON. Feb. 1 The London tie trade'alone produced 1,200,000 black ties to meet the demand of the public after the death of King George. An jfficial of the trade stated that it had never before been called upon to meet such a heavy demand. "We wore faced with u great shortage of black and other materials," he said. "We scoured the Continent for them, and, chiefly through the aid of Germany and France, managed to get sufficient. The were sent by . air, and employees . worked day ana night making ties." '
