TOURING FARMERS
PARTY FROM OVERSEAS ARRIVAL NEXT FRIDAY A party of 46 British farmers will arrive from Sydney by the Wanganella on Friday and commence a month's tour of New Zealand. The party is comprised of 26 from Great Britain and 20 from South Africa. Major-General F. J. Duncan is the leader. Arrangements have been made for the entertainment of the visitors during their stay in Auckland. It is likely that a farmers' di" ner W 'U be held, while an invitation has been extended to the party to visit the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Show at Epsom. The Wanganella will arrive fairly early on Friday morning and later in the day the farmers will be taken to Mauku, where a picnic has been organised by the Franklin executive of tin? New Zealand Farmers' Union. The picnic will be held at Latsen's Bush and an invitation is extended to local farmers and residents and their families to attend the .function. The visitors will later be taken on a tour of inspection of some of the larger farming properties in the Franklin County. Leaving Auckland on Sunday, the party will travel to Hamilton, the next places of the itinerary being Waitomo Oaves, New Plymouth, Hawera, Wanganui, Feildinii, Palmerston North, Masterton and Wellington. From March 11 until March 23 will be spent in the South Island. Before leaving Auckland for Canada by the Niagara on March 31, the tourists will visit Napier and the thermal regions. The tour is being held under the auspices of the British National Union and the Overseas League. Arrangements in New Zealand are being handled by the Government Tourist Bureau.
