ROTARY CONFERENCE

NEARLY 200 DELEGATES THE DOMINION GATHERING Nearly 200 delegates from Rotary clubs in many parts of the Dominion are expected to attend the 14th annual New Zealand Rotary District Conference, which begins at the Auckland University College to-day and will end on Friday. The delegates will be welcomed at the University College Hall to-night by the civic authorities, the district governor, Dr. P. S. Foster, of Christchurch, and the president of the Auckland Rotary Club, Mr. J. P. O'Connor. After official business and two addresses to-morrow morning, the delegates will attend a luncheon of the Auckland Rotary Club, and in the afternoon will visit the Auckland Community Sunshine Association's camp at Motuihi Island, where an address will bo given by Sir Joseph Smith. A report on tho crippled children's movement will bo given in the evening by Mr. G. L. Taylor, and the Rev. H. W. Newell will give an address on "An Introspective View of Rotary." Several addresses will be given on Thursday morning and will be followed by a luncheon for club presidents, vicepresidents and secretaries. There will bo a garden party in tho afternoon at tho New Zealand Institute for the Blind, when Sir Clutha Mackenzie will speak on the work of the institute. A ball will be held at tho University College Hall in the evening. The conference will conclude on Friday with addresses and a debate on "Should Rotary Lead?" Ellerslie racecourse will be visited in the afternoon, followed by afternoon tea at tho homo of Sir George Wilson.
