DEATH ON ROADSIDE
TAURANGA MAORI'S FATE [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] TAURANGA. Monday A middle-aged Maori, Heke Ihaia, who lived at the nativo settlement at Judea, was found dead on tho roadside half a mile from his home early yesterday morning. Deceased was last seen alive about 7.15 on Saturday evening, walking along tho road from Tauranga, and a Quarter of a mile from the spot where his body was found this morning. . , , . _ An inquest was held by the coroner, Mr. A. S. Tunks, yesterday afternoon. Evidence was given that deceased had served in tho Great War, during which ho had been gassed. Recently ho had been subject "to fainting turns. Tho coroner returned a verdict that death had been due to heart failure.
