MEN OF KENT
FIRST SOCIAL OF YEAR * The Auckland branch of the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men held the first social of the year this week at the Fabian Club. Members and guest's were received by the hostesses, Mrs. W. J. "Lane, who wore a frock of brown figured crepe, and Mrs. H. W. Robinson, who wore blue floral marocain. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. Rainey, representing the Auckland Ul3ter Association. A delightful programme, arranged by Mesdames H. Robinson, E. Fraser and F. .Webster, was given, the items being:—Songs by Miss Beryl Smith and Miss Freda Tibbetts; monologues by Mrs. Roy Nudds; a fancy dance and monologue by Miss Betty S.vers; instrumental items by Messrs. E. and J. Lord and J. Jones; and a sketch by the Misses Mary and Peggy Cruickshank. Miss Peake and Miss H. Harmon were the accompanists. The final item was a half-hour's entertainment by Mrs. E. S. Woolley (Aunt Flo), assisted by Mrs. Eady Payne, at the piano, and Mrs. Lane, Messrs. E. Fraser. Woolley and Master Billy Fraser. Dancing after supper concluded a pleasant evening.
