Jn these days of wireless and telephone communication, the method adopted by a team competing at tho Napier Rowing Club's recent regatta at Clive to convey news of tho various events to their homo town was something in tho nature of a novelty. When tbey travelled to Napier tho coxswains of tho Wairoa crews took with them a number of homing pigeons. After each race a bird was despatched with the result written on a cigarette paper tied to its half an hour for the pigeons to make tho trip l'rom Clive to Wairoa.
