WET FEBRUARY

NEARLY B*IN. OF RAIN AVERAGE GREATLY EXCEEDED There was a continuation of wet weather yesterday when heavy rain fell during tho afternoon and light showers in the evening. This month so far has been very unseasonable and wet, the rainfall to date being over 8.30 inches, compared with the average for February of 3.31 in. Rain has fallen on. nine days this month, three of the days being exceptionally wet. Tho total fall for the first two days of the month was 6.13 in. and last Tuesday 1.25 in. of rain fell during the 24 hours. Yesterday's fall was less than .2f)in., but the ran in tho afterpoon caught many people in town not clad for wet weather. February has tho record of being both tho wettest and the driest month of tho year. In February, 1869, the total rainfall for tho month was 14.15 in., but February, 1909, was a rainless month. That year no rain fell from January 30 until March 11.
