BRITAIN AND EGYPT
TREATY NEGOTIATIONS OPENING DATE MARCH 2 (Received February 20, 7.25 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Feb. 19 Reports from Cairo state that March 2 has been fixed as the opening date for the preliminary conversations between the British and Egyptian delegations in connection with the negotiations for a new treaty. It is understood that after the formal opening of the conversations there will be a short interval during the Bairam festival, but there is every desire on the British side that there shall be a minimum of delay in proceeding with the negotiations.
