REPORTED APPOINTMENTS DENIAL BY MR. SAVAGE [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A report was published in Wellington to-day giving the personnel of the Bureau of Industries, -which had been set up as a result of the recentlyannounced reorganisation of the Labour Department and the Unemployment Department, the main function of the bureau being to deal with the development of industries and the work previously undertaken by' the Unemployment Board. The report stated that tho personnel of the bureau comprised the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, the Minister of Labour, Mr. Armstrong, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Sullivan, Messrs. W. Bromley, G. A. Pascoe, and. J. S. Hunter, formor members of the Unemployment Board, and the heads of the technical departments of the Government.
Astonishment was later expressed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, at the publication of the report. "It is news to me, and also to the Government," Mr. Savage said, "to learn, for example, that Messrs. Bromr ley, Pascoe and Hunter, to say nothing about the others mentioned, have been appointed to the committee to control the Bureau of Industries. These appointments have simply not been made. The Government has not yet discussed the personnel."
