MOTOR DRIVER FINED COMMENTS BY MAGISTRATE " When a motorist is crossing a stream ot traffic there is an obligation to give way to approaching vehicles," remarked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, Otahuhu, yesterday, during the. hearing of a breach of regulations charge. Thomas Casey (Mr. Holmden), of Auckland's Beach, was charged with cutting a corner at an intersection of the Punmure-Howick highway on November 10. Sergeant J. Rye, of Paerata, was charged with driving without a driver's licence. After evidence had been heard Mr. Hunt said the plan showed the car was where it ought not to have been. "Every driver approaching an intersection has. the right to oxpect the other driver to observe the regulations," he added in entering a conviction. Casey was fined £1 and 16s costs. Lionel Rye was fined 10s and 10s costs for driving without a licence. Clyde S. Rye, a brother, who was also riding another motor-cycle at the time, was similarly charged and ordered to pay 10s costs.
