WESTERN AUSTRALIA LABOUR WIN PROBABLE (Received February 16, 6.35 p.m.) „ ' PERTH, Feb. 16 Details of the polling in the general election in Western Australia on Saturday are meagre, but they indicate a distinct swing against the Labour Government, which, however, probably will be returned. The state of parties prior to the election was:— Labour .. 30 Country Party . . . . 1] Nationalists 8 Independent Country . . 1 Three Ministers, namely, the Premier, Mr. P. Collier, the Minister of Mines, Mr. S. W. Munsie, and the Minister of Lands, Mr. M. F. Troy, Were returned unopposed. The Minister of Industry, Mr. J. J. Kenneally, however, is in danger of defeat. The candidates who contested the election numbered 104. Labour had claimed credit for business recovery and the Nationalists had belaboured the Government for compelling every sustenauco worker to buy a union ticket.
