The state of parties prior to the election was:— Labour .. 30 Country Party . . . . 1] Nationalists 8 Independent Country . . 1 Three Ministers, namely, the Premier, Mr. P. Collier, the Minister of Mines, Mr. S. W. Munsie, and the Minister of Lands, Mr. M. F. Troy, Were returned unopposed. The Minister of Industry, Mr. J. J. Kenneally, however, is in danger of defeat.
