CLAUDELANDS GARDEN PARTY The home of Mrs. G. F. Rogers, River Road, Hamilton, was the scene of a garden party on Saturday afternoon. The function was arranged bj r the committee of the St. Aidon's Ladies' Guild, with Mrs. W. M. Smallfiekl as convener, in aid of church funds. Ideal weather prevailed and there was a large attendance. Stalls, displaying a varied assortment of cakes and sweets, were set out under the trees, while sideshows placed at intervals in the garden were an added attraction. Afternoon tea was served out of doors. The following were in charge of the stalls: —Cakes and afternoon tea, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. T. Gillies, Mrs. J. D. Smith; work, Mrs. Livingstone, Mrs. Travers; produce, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Madill, Mrs. Morris; sweets and home cookery, Young People's Social Club; sideshows, members of the vestry.

in view of her approaching marriage, Miss Violet Brayshaw has been the" guest of honour at several social functions. On Thursday evening in the Morrinsville Parish Hall the Morrinsville Ladies' Golf Club arranged a farewell bridge party. During the evening Miss F. Laurenson. _ A garden party, held to enable Cambridge people to meet the members of the staff of St. Peter's School, was given by Mr. and Mrs. F. Kingsford at their home at Leamington. There were about 80 people present and a varietv of games and competitions was enjoyed. Among the guests of honour •were the joint headmasters, Mr. A. F. B. Broadhurst and the Rev. J. M. Beaufort, Miss C. M. Sutton, Miss G. M. Swears, Miss R. Wilkie, Miss D. Leathain, Miss L. Talbot and Mrs. L. Luscombe. Mrs. W. Robinson, of Cambridge, is visiting Taupo. Miss Audrey Hewett, of Cambridge, is on a visit to the South. Mrs. J. R. Haworth, of Cambridge, is spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs. E. R. Lee, Miss Betty Lee and Miss Noeline Banks were Cambridge visitors to Auckland for the week-end. Miss Marchant, of Wellington, who has been on an extended visit to Cambridge, has returned home. Miss Winnie Hulme is a Cambridge visitor to Tauranga. Miss Gladys Boyce is on a holiday at Devonport. Mrs. W. J. Murdoch, of Roto-o-rangi, is spending several weeks at Hillsborough. Miss Ela Mackereth, of Roto-o-rangi, has returned home after several months in England. Mrs. M. Cornaga is on a week s visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. F. Feisst, of Fencourt, are touring North Auckland. Miss Audrey Nolan and Miss Gwen Martyn left during the week-end for a short holiday at Lake Rotoiti. Miss Joyce Ambury, of Hamilton, is staying with Mrs. F. Kingsford, of Leamington.
