It was reported that sealing was to bo done at Mahoenui, and it was suggested the Piopio work should bo done wliilo the plant was in the district. It was also decided to reopen the question of a stock route detour past the township. The engineer reported that the Mairoa highway of 10 miles had been rovokcd in favour of the Mangaotaki and Mahoenui-Kawhia roads. Under the heading of Piopio-Mangaohae highway, 18J miles had been declared a highway. The council also adopted tentative proposals for submission to the Public Works Department for consideration in preparing the 1936-37 Estimates.
