REORGANISATION OF WORK BUREAU OF INDUSTRIES f [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Sunday Although the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, announced in Cliristchurch last week that the Unemployment Board "would disappear before long," the board, as such, had ceased to exist about a week earlier when the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, caused a reorganisation of the Labofir Department, setting up a Bureau of Industries, of the three members, who, with the Minister, constitute the Unemployment Board. Two members are continuing pn the Labour Department's staff, Mr. W. Bromley, the deputy-chairman, who has been a most active administrator of the unemployment fund, being now a Labour Department officer directly concerned in its unemployment relief activities, while Mr. G. A. Pascoe, who was specially appointed by the former Government to devise methods of encouraging the expansion of secondary industries, is continuing to give the State the benefit of his extensive manufacturing experience as Labour Department officer associated with the Bureau of Industries.

The third Unemployment Board member is Mr. P. R. Climie, of Christchurch, who was not actively connected with the administration, his duties, being confined to the attendance at board meetings.
