JEWS FROM GERMANY
PLANS FOR MIGRATION AMERICAN AID PROBABLE British "Wireless RUGBY, 13 Viscount Bearsted and Sir Herbert Samuel, two of the members of the delegation which went to the United States in connection with the campaign for the gradual emigration of Jews from Germany, have returned to London. Lord Bearsted said: "We did not try to raise money while we were in the United States. We confined ourselves to putting the necessity before Americans and leaving them to respond. We hope to receive £2,000,000 from the United States, and £3,000,000 iu all. Details of the plans for gradually transferring Jews from Germany will be revealed in the near future." Lord Bearsted said there were 450,000 Jews in Germany who needed assistance, almost 50,000 Jews having left the country since the beginning of the Hitler regime.
