LOST LAUNCH CREW
MEMORIAL SERVICE AT SEA NEW PLYMOUTH CEREMONY [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday A ceremony unique in the history of the port of New Plymouth will be enacted two miles out in the open sea to-morrow, when launch crews will pay a final tribute to the crew of the lost launch Mokau, Mr. W. F. McLeod and his son, Angus. Every launch in the harbour will proceed to sea, and two miles from the shore a memorial service will be held for the two men who perished when their craft disappeared without trace in the terrific storm on the night of February 1. The burial service for those whose bodies are to be committed to the deep will be read, and then wreaths will be cast into the sea.
