STOCK SALES

MORRINSVILLE VALUES STORE SHEEP NUMEROUS PRICES REMAIN STEADY A good entry of all classes of fat sheep was yarded by the Farmers' Auctioneering Company, Limited, at its weekly stock sale at Morrinsville yesterday. Fat wethers showed no variation and a good entry of ewes showed an improved demand. Fat lambs were also sought, exporters operating freel.y at firm schedule rates. An exceptionally largo yarding of all classes of store sheep came forward, including a good entry of store lambs. Consignments from North Auckland realised satisfactory prices, but generally store lambs were slightly easier. A lai'ge entry of breeding ewes attracted fair competition, but prices generally were easier than last week's sale. There was, however, a fair demand for any young breeding ewes, but aged ewes wero not sought.

Some of the main lines of breeding ewes realised the following prices >-108 six-tooth to four-year breeding ewes, 33s 2d; 146 fourtooth, 32s 8d; 150 five-year, 27s Id; 00 mixed age ewes, 27s 3d; 350 five-year, 275; 207 five-year, 20s 3d; 470 five-year, 20s; also a lino of 603 two-tooth wethers realised 225; 253 two-tooth wethers, 19s 3d; GlO medium shorn lambs, 14s 9d; 149, 14s lOd; 110 blackface forward lambs, 15s 7d; 302 ewe lambs, 19n lOd; 151 shorn wether lamb.s, 15s. ■Fat beef was yarded in full numbers, the majority being a well-finished lot. Competition was keen and i rices very firm. Four prim© quality cows from Messrs Thomas Bros, sold up lo £7 10s. 10 prime heifers on account of Mr. L. H. Lamer up to £7; and 30 prime Jersey heifers from Mr. Peter McNaughton sold from £4 18s to £6 7s. Second : quality cow beef was also in fair demand, while boner cows and potter bulls wero yarded in full numbers with exporters operating freely. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs and a full yarding of stores and weaners. Baconers were again in keen demand and last week's advanced rttes were exceeded. In sympathy with the drop in schedule, porkers were inclined to ease. Large stores were also easier, while weaners were hard to dispose of.
