COMPLAINTS AGAINST NOISE [FROM Ol'R OWN" correspondent] SYDNEY. Feb. 5 The Civil Aviation Department has received complaints regarding the.noise made by aeroplanes equipi>ed with sirens, which have been flown oyer beaches and suburban areas, towing advertisements. The Minister of Defence, Mr. Parkhill, stated yesterday that inquiries were being made with a view to preventing the continuance of this noise. Mr. Parkhill said that during » prayer at the memorial parade of naval, military and. Air Force units in Centennial Park recently an aeroplane had flown over the parade to take photographs. He proposed to see whether it was possible to prevent a recurrence of such an incident, which had disturbed the solemnity of the occasioit.
