THE JAM SEASON
Before starting to make jam, screw a small cup hook in the handle of your spoon about three inches from the end. This helps you to retain your hold while stirring, and you can safely leave the spoon in the pan by hanging it on the edge by means of the hook. To fill the jars, use a large jug with a long narrow spout.
