A GOOD FLOOR STAIN
The following makes a good nonsticky floor stain:—-Half lb. bichromate of potash dissolved in one gallon of hot water for light oak colour; or jib. permangamate of potash for dark oak. When quite dry, apply one or two coats of half-boiled and half-raw linseed oil (mixed together) and allow it to dry thoroughly. Then polish in the ordinary way.
