WEDDING
CLARK—McGECHIE A wedding of wide interest was solemnised at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, To Awamutu, on Saturday, February 1, when Joyce Esther, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McGechie, Pakura Street, To Awamutu, was married to Sidney Trevor, only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Clark, Wallace Terrace, le Awamutu. The Rev. A. C. Whitelaw officiated and Mr. Jackman presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of ice satin inset with needlerun lace. The slim-fitting bodice with its softly cowled neckline was relieved with orange blossoms. The bellshaped sleeves were also inset with lace and the skirt, fitting to below the knees, fell to form a long lace train. The silver tulle veil was held in position by a coronet of orange blossoms, and tlie bride carried a sheaf of white roses and cactus dahlias, with maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Nessie McGechie (sister of the bride) and Miss Mavis Clark (sister of the bridegroom), whose frocks of apple blossom pink georgette had tucked necklines finished with diamante clips, the sleeves forming a cape finished with rows of knife pleating. The skirts a.lso were tight-fitting to the knees, forming a small train. They wore coronets of pink roses to match their frocks and carried shower bouquets of pink carnations, roses and sweet peas, with maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. D. Hawkins (Auckland) and J. Bryant (Hairini). Acting as ushers were Messrs. F. Mason and R. Mandeno. The church was decorated with masses of beautiful dahlias and other flowers bv friends of the bride
The reception was held at St. Andrew's Hall, where Mr. and Mrs. McGechie welcomed their guests, the latter wearing a graceful gown of nayj blue silk marocain, the sleeves embroidered with white beads. With it she wore a navy hut. A posy of blue delphiniums and maidenhair fern was carried. Mrs. Clark (mother of the bridegroom) wore a navy silk ensemble relieved with red and a Bangkok hat, while a posy of rod dahlias and ixias was carried. The bride travelled wearing a smart navy and white spotted ensemble with navy hat and white accessories. Their future home will be in Te Awamutu.
