BAGSNATCHER IN SYDNEY [from our own correspondent] SYDNEY, Feb. 6 Police are concerned at the activities of a young bagsnatcher in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The thief, who is believed to be responsible for periodical raids, uses an old motorcar, which ho parks in some dark street with tho engine running. After snatching a woman's handbag it is only .a matter of a few miuutcs > before he has run back to tho car, jumped in, and made his escapo. Mrs. It. W. Collins, of I?ose Bay, had a desperate encounter with tho thief. She struggled pluckily to keep her handbag, which contained only about 3s, but the thief wrested it from her grip.
