HAMILTON REGATTA

MOST SUCCESSFUL YET HELD [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Reporting on the Anniversary Day regatta at a meeting of the Hamilton Regatta and Carnival Committee last evening, the chairman, Mr. K. Halliday, said it was the most successful on record. The report of the treasurer, although not yet complete, showed the margin of profit would bo satisfactory and above expectations. Many letters of appreciation had been received from spectators and visiting oarsmen, complimenting the executive on its capable and thorough organisation.

The resignation of the secretary of the association, Mr. E. A. Latham, who has been transferred to Wellington, was received with regret. It wa3 decided to make him a gift as a reminder of his happy connections with the rowing club. It was decided that a speed-boat carnival should be arranged on tho river at a date to be fixed, possibly Inarch 28, and a sub-committee was appointed to make preliminary arrangements.
