OBITUARY
MR. a J. G. COOK The death occurred suddenly at Parliament Buildings, Wellington, last Friday, of Mr. John Godfrey Cook, wool instructor of the Department of Agriculture, at the age of 59 years. Mr. Cook joined the department as wool instructor in April, 1920, having acquired in private work a wide experience of wool and its grading and classing. He was a man of exceptionally genial disposition and was well liked and respected by all with whom he came in contact. He was a Boer War veteran, having left New Zealand for South Africa with the first contingent. He is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters. MRS. WALTER CHITTY [from our own* correspondent] HAMILTON. Sunday An old resident of Hamilton, Mrs. Alice Chitty, died yesterday at the age of 77. Mrs Chitty was born in Tipperarv, Ireland. She arrived in New Zealand at the age of 13 years and, with her parents, lived at Claudelands. She was married to Mr. Walter Chitty over (30 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Chitty celebrated their diamond wedding two years ago. Mrs. Chitty is survived bv her husband and an adult family of three sons and rive daughters.
