INJURIES PROVE FATAL

COLLISION AT WAITOA THROWN FROM MOTOR-CYCLE [from OCR own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital at midnight last night of Mr. Walter Gilbert Daniel Godfery, aged 22, a farm hand, who was fatally injured in a collision at Waitoa early yesterday morning.. The deceased, who had been employed by Mr. T. f{. Burgess, of Waitoa, had been to a dance at Springdale on Wednesday evening. He was returning home on his motor-cycle, and when near Waitoa his machine was involved in a collision with a motor-car driven by Mr. O. Jackson, of Stanley Road, Te Aroha. Mr. Godfery was thrown heavily from his machine, and the impact with the ground caused a compound fracture of the right leg and very severe shock. He was admitted to tho Waikato Hospital and died from the effects of the shock.

Mr. Godfery was a single man. An inquest was opened this morning before Mr. F. W. Platts, coroner, and was adjourned after evidence of identification had been taken.
