CHRISTCHURCH MAYOR
PENDING RESIGNATION CITIZENS' NOMINATION [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION'] CHRISTCHURCH. Friday The deputy-mayor, Air. J. W. Beanland, this evening received the nomination of the Christchurch Citizens' Association as a candidate in the coming mayoral by-election. The Mayoralty is likely to become vacant because of the landing resignation of the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. The association nominated Sir Hugh Acland and Mr. T. J. Maling for the two seat 3 vacant on the City Council. The date of the elections is not yet definitely fixed, but is expected to be early in March.
